Week 4 Bank/Tank

How can this season get any better? Every week, every game, every quarter, and even every drive (well, except for the Chiefs' drives) has been overwhelming. And when every game is close, how can you watch every single one? How can you see who is performing and who isn't? That’s why I’m here; to enlighten you on who to start this week, and who is going to fart this week. Last week's Bank/Tank wasn't great, but it was better than the week before. In every category I was near perfect, but then there was one: my tank wide receivers. For the second straight week I did not hit on my wide receivers, but hey, it happens. This week, I’ll be aiming for perfection (yeah right, when man sets foot on the moon…oh wait…).

Quarterbacks
Bank
Tony Romo vs – Disagreeing with Liz Loza on this one. Romo may be injured, he may not of had the best last two games. But this game is going to be a shootout; no doubt about that. With Stafford, Megatron, and Jahvid Best in town, this is going to be a tough one for the Cowboys to handle. They aren’t going to be running on the Lions defensive line, so I think Cowboys will resort to the air. Call me crazy, but if Dez Bryant is active on Sunday, Romo is going to have a nice game.

Eli Manning @ Arizona – Look, we all know Arizona (since losing Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie) has fallen apart nearly every game. Manning is fifth in the league against the Arizona Cardinals is in my best Bart Scott voice “25th in the league!” The Cardinals “can’t stop a nose bleed” and with Nicks and Manningham ready to go, Manning (of the Eli variety) is going to have a really good game.

Extra: Ryan Fitzpatrick

Tank
Michael Vick vs San Francisco – Rather it be his offensive line, injuries, or the newly designed playbook, Mike Vick has not lived to one-half of his standards so far this year. I know San Francisco has looked bad in previous weeks, but in week three they actually showed us that they can stop. With Maclin not completely 100%, Vick could really struggle on Sunday, just as he has in the previous three weeks. I think this might be the one pick that could backfire on me the most, but if that happens you can blame me. Sit Vick this week.

Matt Schaub vs Pittsburgh – The Pittsburgh defense is still the Pittsburgh defense. They are a force on the ground and through the air. They’re going to shut you down. Schaub hasn’t been playing particularly well, so sit him this week.

Extra: Mark Sanchez, Joe Flacco

Running Backs
Bank
Legarrette Blount vs Indianapolis – Not only is this guy getting all of the carries for the Bucs, but now, he is taking on the Indianapolis Colts. This is the matchup you see on your schedule and say, “This is his day.” And that is exactly what it is going to be. I see the Bucs coming out early, and handing it off for the majority of the second half, which means it’s going to be a LeGarrette Blount fest. Get ready for it.

Darren Sproles @ Jacksonville – The Saints are using Sproles the way he is supposed to be used: screen passes, very few carries, the carries he gets are to the outside, and they are getting him in the open field. All of those are the ways that Darren Sproles finds the endzone. If he continues to be used like this, it will make Sean Payton look like a genius, and it is going to only help your fantasy team. With an excellent matchup against Jacksonville this week, Sproles could be huge.

Extra: Daniel Thomas, Joseph Addai (this is going to be a let down..)

Tank
Beanie Wells vs New York Giants – I think Wells’ injury is going to linger this week, and it doesn’t help he is playing a tough Giants defense. I expect this game to be close, and not be Beanie running the ball for the Cardinals all day long. Wells says he is ready to go, but I’m not so sure he’s going to be 100 percent. I think it is in your best interest to keep Wells on the pine this week and wait for a better matchup and a stronger hammy.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis @ Oakland – BenJarvus had $100 for every time I was impressed last week, he be broke. Not only was he losing carries to Stevan Ridley, but he averaged under two yards per carry. And that’s not even all. The Lawfirm got stuffed three times at the goal line. Ouch. The Raiders defense has looked fairly good, and I think this is your week to sit BenJarvus.

Extra: Frank Gore (even if he plays)

Wide Receivers
Bank
Dwayne Bowe vs Minnesota -  Those of you who saw my week two and week three Bank and Tank, you know that I hated Dwayne Bowe… and I got burned, twice. This week, even with the way that Antoine Winfield has been playing, I am starting Dwayne Bowe. It doesn’t look like the Chiefs’ struggles have affected Bowe that much. Cassel is still throwing him the ball on a consistent basis.

Nate Burleson @ Dallas – With the Cowboys’ secondary banged up, Burleson or Titus Young is going to have a huge game. Cowboys have stopped the run defense pretty well, but they can’t shut down the pass game (hmm, that’s odd). I look forward to Burleson making me look good on Sunday. If you are trying to find a man to fill your flex, then this is your man.

Extras: AJ Green, Julio Jones

Tank
Sidney Rice vs Atlanta – He had a great game last year, but Brent Grimes is a top ten cornerback in this league. Rice is going to take him on this week with his shoulder still injured. I’m not saying Rice is going to dump a goose egg for you, but I would temper your expectations. Falcons shut down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers last week, and they have a hell of a better quarterback than Tavaris Jackson.

Anquan Boldin vs New York Jets – The Jets have dominated wide receivers through the air (as you might have guessed). Boldin hasn’t looked great in the last two games. Well, I’ll just put this one out there: Revis Island. Boldin is going to be shut down by Revis, keep him on your bench.

Others: Santonio Holmes

Tight Ends
Bank
Vernon Davis @ Philadelphia – The Eagles are only allowing 8 points per game to tight ends, but don’t but into it. The only tight end that the Eagles have played that has some respect is Tony Gonzalez, and he destroyed them all night long. With the Eagles’ linebackers looking like garbage, I love Davis this week.

Extra: Jared Cook

Tank
Brandon Pettigrew @ Dallas – I’m not buying yet. He had a great game last week and all, but can he really do it again. With the Cowboys’ week secondary, Stafford will look to use his wide receivers and expose the Cowboys weakness. The Cowboys kept Keller in check and shut Vernon Davis down. Don’t depend on Pettigrew quite yet.

Extra: Tony Gonzalez

I hope you enjoyed the week four edition of Bank/Tank, but more importantly, I hope it helps you get a win this week. I don’t do a big of good if I’m not helping you win your games. I’ll be back this weekend with my picks with my start/sit for each game included. If you ever have a question about your lineup, trades, or start/sit questions then send me a tweet on twitter or you can send me an email. Don’t forget to look in the Fantasy Rankings page for my updated rankings, and the Injury Report tab for all of the latest injury news. On Sunday that will pretty much be a live stream of all of the news that I can find that you are going to need to get the crippled out of your lineup. Thanks for reading!

Week Four Injury Report: The Kenny Britt Effect

By: Zach Jacobson

Hello FF Addicts, I'll be packing my bags and making the trek over here every Wednesday to give you the skinny on all the major fantasy football injuries.  This should be a short little thing (by request), but hopefully you all enjoy my ramblings enough to have me back next week.  Keep in mind that I'm merely going over the immediate backup on that specific team.  Anyways, let's start with the Eagles, because week four is shaping up to be a rough match-up for them.

The Injuries

Michael Vick:  Technically his status against the 49ers next week is up in the air, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.  Even if it is his non-throwing hand, a large contusion can't be easy to play with, especially based on the swelling.  Mike Kafka has a 47.7 QB rating and Vince Young is still recovering from a weak hamstring so it will be interesting to see where the Eagles go in Week 4.  If he winds up sitting don't worry about picking up any of this backups.  (Edit:  This was written on Monday, and as of now Vick is listed as a sure start for the Eagles.  Still, the hand won't be healed by then, and the way he gets hit this won't be his last missed game this season.  You heard it here...well probably last)

Jeremy Maclin:  The Eagles seem to be playing it fast and loose with the phrase "ruled out".  First Vick, and now Maclin is being listed as day-to-day when the original thought was that he'd miss week four.  At the very least he'll be missing practice time, and hamstring injuries can be worrying for a receiver.  If you have room on your team I'd add Steve Smith as insurance, but seeing that this injury would only limit Maclin for this week alone, I wouldn't look too much into Smith.

Kenny Britt:  Hey, who'd of guessed that Britt's season would be cut short by injury, and not by him being thrown in the slammer?  Apparently it's an ACL and MCL tear, and the Tennessee Titans fear he will be lost for the season.  Nate Washington was already having a solid year, but Britt's injury makes Washington a must start most weeks.  Damian Williams and Lavelle Hawkins are also worth a mention, but I wouldn't pick them up 'till they show more production.

The Replacements

Good to Go:  Nate Washington
Stay AWAY:  Mike Kafka
Wait and See:  Damian Williams, Lavelle Hawkins, Steve Smith.

Week 4 Pickups

By: Gabriel Harber

It was business as usual this week in the NFL.  The Bolts edged out the Chiefs in a close one, the Colts took the Steelers down to the wire, and Tom Brady tossed 4 INT's. Wait...What!?

If week 3 left you scratching your head, don't worry, you're not alone. If you are looking for that one waiver wire pick up that is going to give you a W in week 4? That's what we're here for.

Antonio Brown:  This one is born of necessity more than anything else.  Anyone who watched Sunday's game against the Colts knows the offensive line has more holes in it than Kesha's clothing.  With the running game being non-existent, and Big Ben under constant pressure, the slot receievers stand to benefit a great deal.  Brown did, with a team high 8 targets.   He is also a great punt returner, so if your league uses return yardage, fire away.

Dane Sanzenbacher:  This one is more of a gut call than anything else, but when you go from relative unknown to catching TD passes in back-to-back weeks, you're bound to turn some heads.  It's been a long time since Chicago fans had a receiver to be excited about, and with Johnny Knox panning out as extraordinarily average, there is room for someone to steal the show.  Sanzenbacher may just end up being that guy.  It's worth noting that he had 5 catches on 7 targets.  If your league is PPR, you want to keep a close eye on him; think shades of Wes Welker.

Brandon Gibson:  Gibson has posted three weeks with respectable yardage totals, and even found the end zone this weekend.  Bradford clearly trusts him, and with the intermittent success he experienced in 2010, he could very well be stepping it up for real this time.

Jason Campbell:  Don't be fooled, the only reason he put up a stinker this weekend is because everyone in California got to sit back and watch the McFadden show.  With emerging weapons in Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford, and a two-headed monster in the backfield, Campbell has all the tools to work with he never had in Washington.  I'm sold.

Torrey Smith: He caught a long TD pass.  Then he caught another one, but for less yardage.  Then it happened again for less yardage.  Then he starts catching passes that aren't even for touchdowns.  I'm really concerned about the downward trend with this guy.......All jokes aside, a lot of people are down on this kid and I can't for the life of me tell why.  The Ravens have matchups against soft pass defenses for most of the season, and Lee Evans sure wasn't producing like this when he was on the field.  It will be interesting to see what happens from here on out, but I can't see the Ravens sitting idly on his talent.

Denarius Moore:  Darrius Heyward-Bey was back and guess what?  Moore thoroughly outplayed him, just as predicted, despite being listed behind him on the depth chart.  McFadden clearly stole the show, but Moore still had 6 targets and a rushing touchdown.  The score was particularly interesting given it was on a run, proving that the Raiders are committed to getting the ball to their playmakers any way possible.

David Nelson/Donald Jones:  As long as Buffalo's offense continues putting up numbers, these guys are worth a flier.  Nelson is a pass-catching monster, but he may already be gone.  Jones is a sneaky flex play in deeper leagues.

Kendall Hunter:  Hunter got most of the workload when Gore went down, and even flashed some brilliance.  With the 49ers looking for any way to generate offense, and Gore averaging only 2.51 yards per carry, Hunter will be given his fair shake.  If Gore can't go this weekend, Hunter is a must add against the Eagles putrid run defense.

Daniel Thomas: This one is a long shot, but I see Thomas still sitting on wires in quite a few leagues.  If you happen to be in one, burn that waiver priority right now!  This guy has all the makings to be the real deal, and it looks like the Dolphins have finally figured out that not only is Reggie Bush not a feature back, he's not even a running back.

Montario Hardesty: Every Hillis owner should be taking note as Hardesty didn't look that bad against a stout Miami run defense.  If Hillis goes down or begins wearing out, Hardesty would be up for an expanded role.  The 4.8 yards per carry was most impressive.

Eric Decker: Decker didn't post the eye popping numbers he did the week before, but still had 12 targets.  I'm willing to chalk this one up to the Titans secondary and as long as the Broncos are committed to feeding him, he remains a viable option.

Brandon Pettigrew/Titus Young:  While defensive coordinators everywhere draw up triple teams to slow Megatron down (hint: it won't work), the rest of the field is becoming wide open for Stafford and crew.  Pettigrew posted a huge game while Young had a fine game to the tune of 8 targets.  As long as the Motor City Massacre (my name for the Lions offense) continues on this pace, both are intriguing options.

James Casey: Super sneaky sleeper here.  Casey exploded from nowhere onto the scene Sunday and was a nightmare for the Saints defense.  He lined up at running back, wide receiver, and tight end, creating matchup problems all day.  Because of his flexibility and knack for getting open, I believe the Texans will be looking for more ways to get him the ball.

Victor Cruz: This one's tough because on one hand, he did have 2 TD's, but on the other hand he only 3 receptions on 5 targets.  For now I say monitor the status of Manningham and Nicks.  If they're out, Cruz makes a decent flex play.

Let Them Preach: Week Three Edition

By: Christian Hardy

What a week in the NFL right? Bills? Lions? I mean who would’ve thought both of those teams would start 3-0. What a great time for their fans to celebrate after so many years of misery. But this article isn’t about the thriving of those franchises; it’s about what I learned from every game. It’s about the players who really showed me what they got in week three of the NFL season. Enough chatter, let’s get right to the action.

Denver Broncos @ Tennessee Titans
1. Matt Hasselbeck can produce, even without his number one guy in the game.
2. Nate Washington is going to have a ton of value with Britt injury. Damian Williams will get looks too.
3. Eric Decker isn’t what I thought he was, despite the seven targets he got.
4. Titans are a passing team, and that is going to hurt Chris Johnson.

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
1. I was right about Victor Cruz. Check my rankings and Twitter. I called a big game for him.
2. Eli Manning responded very well to a bad performance last week.
3. Michael Vick is not the same Vick that we saw in 2010. Looks older and a big factor is his offensive line.

Houston Texans @ New Orleans Saints
1. I think fantasy owners should marry Drew Brees. Jimmy Graham owners should too. Without that late touchdown to Graham, Graham would of had a mediocre game at best.
2. Mark Ingram is become more and more relevant while Sproles becomes less and less relevant.
3. Mat Schaub can spread the ball out just as well as anyone else in the league.

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
1. Vikings can’t hold a lead. They completely fall apart in the second half.
2. I think Calvin Johnson can sit out practice all week long and still be a complete beast in the games. He is such a stud. I love that guy.
3. Stafford might be is elite.

San Francisco 49ers @ Cincinnati Bengals
1. Frank Gore isn’t the same as he has been in the past.
2. Alex Smith does know who his unsurpassed weapon is (Vernon Davis).
3.Chad Henne is not what I thought he was.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Carolina Panthers
1. Mike Thomas still has good value as a flex even with Blaine Gabbert at quarterback.
2. Cam Newton burned me, badly.
3. Steve Smith is going to have his off games, and that is alright.
4. If Cam Newton fails to perform, the Panthers have their run game to lean on. If this team good get a good offensive coordinator that could balance this offense, it could be an absolute powerhouse.

New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills\
1. Wes Welker is a top 10 wide receiver in fake football and in real football.
2. If Fred Jackson got 20+ carries a game then he would a stud.
3. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a top ten fantasy quarterback. He continues to do it, and so does this offense.

New York Jets @ Oakland Raiders
1. Mark Sanchez actually can play in the regular season
2. Darren McFadden is the Raiders offense.
3. Ladanian Tomlinson still has it, but I also learned that neither RB is dependable enough to start.

Baltimore Ravens @ St.Louis Rams
1. Torrey Smith, if he earns that starting job over Lee Evans (and he should), is an irresistible pickup this week.
2. Fantasy owners still don’t know Bradford’s #1 wide receiver.
3. Ravens are a top-caliber team, and should be considered “deadly”. The game against the Titans was clearly a fluke.

Kansas Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers
1. Mike Tolbert is going out of style like jean shorts. His value is falling and falling because Ryan Matthews is stealing the goal line/red zone carries.
2. Even if the Chiefs struggle, Dwayne bowe has proved me wrong.
3. Vincent Jackson is one of those guys who will never drop a goose egg, but will be so inconsistent.

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears
1. Like I have said before: no Forte, no W in the win column for “Da Bears”.
2. Jermichael Finley is elite. No other way to put it. If you don’t consider him elite yet, then you will soon enough.
3. You can’t depend on James Starks or Ryan Grant on a week-to-week basis.

Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks
1. Alfonso Smith is the backup running back, not Chester Taylor
2. Todd Heap reclaimed his number one tight end spot.
3. Tavaris Jackson can win a football game (?).

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1. Earnest Graham catches the ball (?). He has eight targets for seven catches!
2. LeGarrette Blount can run the ball  a heck of a lot better than Earnest Graham.
3. If Julio Jones has a favorable matchup then Matty Ice is going to find it and expose it.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts
1. Mike Wallace is a monster. No doubt about that.
2. The Colts can stop the rush (this is something that won’t trend).
3. Addai got the carries that he deserved.

Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys
1. Tony Romo is not only a leader, and this isn't new, but he is an elite quarterback. He leads his team to victories and the team rallies around him.
2. If the Cowboys don't get a healthy Dez Bryant and a healthy Mike Jenkins next week then the Lions could tear them apart.
3. Redskins love to feed the ball to Tim Hightower, and he will be getting plenty of carries throughout the year; at least enough to earn a starting spot on your fantasy roster

Thanks for checking out everything I learned this week. Don’t forget that I changed the domain name to just theffaddict.com and took out the blogspot. Hope it is simpler for you readers out there because I know it is for me. Don’t forget to check me out on Twitter or you can always email me any questions or concerns. I also just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Zach (@zatchj62) will be writing a weekly article for this website that will be posted on Wednesday’s. He got his start with ReclinerQB (where I am now featured) and I have invited him to write for this website. I will also be trying various writers, so don’t be surprised when you don’t see things from me (Christian Hardy) here on the blog. I’ll see you in my Thursday “Bank/Tank”. Tata for now.

Week 3 Bank/Tank

 By: Christian Hardy
After all of the number crunching, the matchup hunting, and trend-setting stat finding  in the last few days and you've got an all new Bank/Tank. I realize that last week my tanks were really, well, awful; but on the flipside, my banks were near perfect. But with all of that, it's time to get this show on the road. First up: quarterbacks

Quarterbacks
Bank
Cam Newton vs Jacksonville - While this is obvious for some, others may be questioning him. Can he do it again? I think he can. Just take a look at my rankings. I ranked the rookie at number two only behind NFL leading passer Tom Brady. Not only has he attempted the fourth most passes in the league, but he also has a great matchup. If Cam Newton throws the pigskin 40 times or more this week, he is going to pick this Jaguars defense apart.

Matt Ryan @ Tampa Bay – This one is also a pretty easy one. The Buccaneers pass defense has been torched in the first two weeks against Matthew Stafford and Donavan McNabb. Matthew Stafford completely went off and McNabb threw for over 220 yards in the week after he threw for just 39. With the offense at its peak, Ryan is going to air it out this week, and he is going to air it out often. Make sure this guy is in your lineup if you have him.

Extra: Matt Hasselbeck

Tank
Eli Manning @ Philadelphia – Not only did Manning look god awful on Monday Night Football, but now he is actually playing a respectable pass defense. With the way he has played in these first two days, I would recommend the Giants keep it on the ground against the Eagles. I know he was without his receivers last game, but even with his main guys (most of the first half) he was extremely inaccurate. Don’t play Manning this week, even if both of his parents are there to watch him.

Josh Freeman vs Atlanta – With only two touchdowns (and two interceptions) in the first two games, I am really not feeling Josh Freeman. I was high on him very early in the preseason, but as it went on, his stock continued to fall. Blount was much more involved in the offense last week and it may go up even more this week. If Freeman isn’t hitting his guys in the redzone then he isn’t going to get you the easy fantasy points. Simple as that. Sit Freeman this week.

Running Backs
Bank
BenJarvus Green-Ellis @ Buffalo – We all know the Buffalo run defense is bad. That is a fact. But why is Green-Ellis going to get more carries this week? The Aaron Hernandez injury. With Hernandez gone from that offense I think we are going to see the Patriots pound the ball more, and who does that best? THE Lawfirm. If he can get the carries, he could put on a clinic against the weak Bills rush defense.

Mark Ingram vs Houston – Ingram hasn’t looked great in his first two starts and I acknowledge that. But Ingram is still getting the majority of the Saints’ goal line touches, and it's only a matter of time before he finds the end zone. The Texans haven’t given up a rushing touchdown yet, but they had easy matchups in both weeks one and two (Colts and Dolphins). That’s why, even though many will be reluctant about it, Mark Ingram is a viable flex play this week, and I would put money on him recording a tally in the TD column.

Extra: Darren Sproles, Ben Tate

Tank
Beanie Wells @ Seattle – Yeah, yeah I hear ya. Wells is averaging 5.7 yards per carry blah, blah, blah. Really though, who was he playing? You look at the matchups and you see Carolina and Washington. Both teams aren’t really known as run stoppers. Seattle, his opponent this week and division rival, has allowed 3 TDs which does give Wells a good chance to find the end zone, but I think Kolb is going to exploit their weakness: the passing game. Look for the Cardinals to air it out, not run the ball on Sunday.

DeAngelo Williams vs Jacksonville – This one is pretty easy. DWill has gotten just 17 carries in the last two games combined (only five against Green Bay last week) and he isn’t all that involved in the pass game either. With Newton under center this team is going to throw, throw, and throw some more. Until Deangelo Williams becomes a part of this offense again, he is going to make a real warm spot on the pine.

Extra: Reggie Bush

Wide Receivers
Bank
Dez Bryant vs Washington – Did you see what Miles Austin did to San Francisco’s defense last week as the only WR that Romo could trust? That could be Dez Bryant this week. Granted, he also has Witten who is going to steal a few looks here and there. But Bryant was Romo’s redzone favorite against the Jets in week one and why not again? You have to start Dez this week. I am expecting a huge game.

Eric Decker @ Tennessee- Last week Decker stole the show. Some owners popped him into their line up just minutes before the game and boy did it pay off. With Eddie Royal out for a couple weeks, Decker steps up into an obvious WR2 slot. Even with Lloyd back, who does Tennessee have at corner after Cortland Finnegan that can cover this guy? No one? That’s what I thought. Decker might not duplicate last week, but I think he might come close to it.

Extra: Kevin Ogletree, AJ Green, Brandon LaFell

Tank
Reggie Wayne vs Pittsburgh – Yeah, the Steelers have a good defense. But what is the real reason I hate Wayne this week? Kerry Collins. Collins isn’t going to have time to find Wayne downfield this week (has he ever had that time?). Not only that, but the Steelers have yet to allow a receiver to go over 13 fantasy points this season and that was Anquan Boldin with Joe Flacco under center. This is Kerry Collins, and I don’t want Wayne in my lineup this week. Don;'t let it Wayne on your day.

Dwayne Bowe @ San Diego – I missed (not badly, but I missed) on Dwayne last week. He decided to actually be relevant in week two against the Lions. But this is week three, and the Chiefs' offense is going to be so awful without Jamaal Charles and Tony Moeaki, I’m not sure I would ever start Bowe again. What are his chances of finding the endzone? I’m legitimately sure that Bowe is going to be hunting for the endzone, not finding it. Keep him on your bench against a good pass defense.

Extra: Hakeem Nicks,  Mike Williams (Tampa)

Tight Ends
Bank
Rob Gronkowski @ Buffalo – Another benefit of Aaron Hernandez being out (one of the many things I hate to say: someone’s gain from another’s injury) is Rob Gronkowski. He is going to get targets added to his already huge abundance of them. Tom Brady is loving his TEs, why should that stop this week?

Others: Jermichael Finley

Tank
Dallas Clark vs Pittsburgh – I really wanted to put Antonio Gates in this spot but I’m sure he will rebound in week three. Anyways, on with Dallas Clark. Pittsburgh allowed Ed Dickson to have a worthy performance in week one, but who didn’t that week for Baltimore? It was a disaster for the Steelers. With Collins under the heat of the Steelers blitz and more and more passes going away from Clark, I think you can find a better option this week.

Extra: Brandon Pettigrew

Well, that’s all for me. My next article will be out sometime on Saturday and it will be my game picks including my start/sit. I hope you guys enjoyed this one. If you have any fantasy football questions, I am always on Twitter and I love reader's questions or you can email me and I will get back to you with a quality answer (well, most of the time..). I’ll talk to you on Saturday!

Let Them Preach! Week 2 Edition

 By: Christian Hardy

Every year the league seems to change so much, and this year the game has changed more than I have ever remembered. Maybe EA Sports Madden 12 was wrong, teams actually can throw the ball, because in the first two weeks of the NFL season, quarterbacks have dominated the game. Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Cam Newton, and Matthew Stafford have gone absolutely berserk in the two weeks that we have been back to football. But what did I learn in each matchup individually? That's what this is about: what I learned. So sit back, and enjoy.

Oakland Raiders @ Buffalo Bills
1. Ryan Fitzpatrick is one of those quarterbacks who is going to throw the ball a ton.
2. CJ Spiller is going to be non-effective this year, but Fred Jackson looks like he is going to be an utter stud, especially in a PPR.
3. Michael Bush is going to vulture some of Darren McFadden’s touchdowns, but at the same time, McFadden is going to be a huge part of the offense.
4. If Denarius Moore does not get the WR2 spot from Darius Heyward-Bey then the Raiders don’t know how to run a team. The guy is tremendously gifted.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Philadelphia Eagles
1. Matthew Stafford is going to become elite if he can stay healthy.
2. Jahvid Best is the newest workhorse.
3. Chiefs are officially in the “Andrew Luck Sweepstakes”

Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans
1. Kenny Britt is a tremendous playmaker, and Nate Washington is a great flex in a PPR league.
2. Matt Hasselbeck is going to throw the ball a lot.
3. Chris Johnson is a major buy low right now.

Cleveland Browns @ Indianapolis Colts
1. Dallas Clark’s value has dropped tremendously, as has Reggie Wayne’s. I’m calling it “The Collins Factor”
2. Delone Carter will get as many carries as Addai on a lot of weeks, but how many carries will they get? Also, I learned that Carter is going to get all of the carries in the red zone, which means touchdowns galore (but how often can the Colts get to the redzone?).
3. Greg Little’s value is going to increase week by week and is a great dynasty league pickup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Minnesota Vikings
1. I was way off on Blount, and I just wanted to say sorry to all that took my advice. That was one of my worst picks ever.
2. Arrelious Benn and Preston Parker are both going to be relevant this year.
3. Adrian Peterson is an absolute monster. There is no other way to put it. He is simply a beast.

Chicago Bears @ New Orleans Saints
1. Matt Forte is the Bears offense. Without Matt Forte, Jay Cutler would look like Kerry Collins, and that is the worst insult I could think of.
2. Darren Sproles is a huge part of the Saints offense, and he should find a spot on everyone’s roster.
3. Jimmy Graham is now a must start every week. He did not have an enormous game this week, but good enough to where you must start him.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets
1. Mike Thomas is the top wide receiver for the Jaguars. Ten targets is plenty enough to convince this man.
2. Shonn Greene may have the role that many fantasy owners though that he had: Greene had ten more carries than Ladanian Tomlinson as well as one more catch than Tomlinson.
3. I learned that Dustin Keller isn’t as irrelevant as people think. He will probably find a spot in my top ten tight ends next week.

Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers
1. Mike Wallace isn’t just a deep ball receiver; he had eight catches on Sunday.
2. Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders are going to continue to bring each other down.
3. The Seattle Seahawks are also in the “Andrew Luck Sweepstakes”

Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Redskins
1.  Kevin Kolb and Larry Fitzgerald are going to have a great time together in Arizona.
2. Fred Davis can produce, even with Cooley stealing looks.
3. Chris Beanie Wells no longer looks like the running back that averaged three yards per carry. He looks like a whole new running back.

Green Bay Packers @ Carolina Panthers
1. This Cam Newton guy is for real.
2. James Starks is officially the number one running back for the Packers. He ran better and just flat out looked better than Ryan Grant.
3. Steve Smith is Cam Newton’s favorite target no doubt, confirming one of the things I learned last week.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Denver Broncos
1. I whiffed on my Cedric Benson prediction really bad. I still believe in Benson though. But to even it out, I was right about Simpson. I liked him this week.
2. Andy Dalton is almost as legit as Cam Newton, and that’s a major compliment.
3. Eric Decker will/should move into the WR2 hole for the Broncos.

Houston Texans @ Miami Dolphins
1. Arian Foster needs a week to sit out and regain strength. If he doesn’t get rest it will hurt fantasy owners.
2. You know that 70/30 split that Bush was supposed to be favored in? Yeah, that never happened. Bush got only seven touches and Thomas got 19. But Thomas did a lot with those carries. I’m not sure how this will work in the future, but I am anxious to see.
3. Chad Henne is not the Chad Henne we saw in week one.

Dallas Cowboys @ San Francisco 49ers
1. The Cowboys offensive line is going to hurt Felix Jones all year long.
2. Tony Romo is going to take big hits all year, so get a good backup quarterback.
3. Alex Smith and Vernon Davis have nothing together this year. I can’t figure out if it is play calling or just bad quarterbacking by Alex Smith. I saw Davis open multiple times against the Cowboys.
4. Miles Austin is a top ten wide receiver in the league, in terms of skill.

San Diego Chargers @ New England Patriots
1.  I was wrong on Vincent Jackson, but I still don’t see him having a great year. I still will have to rank him with this in mind though.
2. A Vincent Jackson excellent game equals nada for Antonio Gates, but this shouldn’t become a trend for the Chargers.
3. Both TEs are going to be very productive in the Patriots offense.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons
1. Jeremy Maclin is going to go through his up and downs all year, just like he has in the past.
2. Desean Jackson can’t repeat what he did against the Giants in 2010.
3. Michael Turner looks like a complete monster in these first two games.
4. Tony Gonzalez isn’t too old to find the end zone every so often.

St.Louis Rams @ New York Giants
1. Sam Bradford just gets better and better every game.
2. Mike Sims-Walker looks to be the top receiver for the Rams, but this could be a different story next week. Bradford loves spreading the ball around.
3. Brandon Jacobs is going to vulture fantasy points for Bradshaw and there is no doubt about that. He is stealing carries, touches, and touchdowns. The coaching staff trusts Jacobs more than Bradshaw and they make that apparent quite often.

Thanks for checking out everything I learned in week two of the NFL season. Like I said before, it’s going to be a much different season than last year, and I have already learned so much in just two weeks of play. As always, you can ask me all your questions on Twitter or you can email me. My rankings will be posted on Wednesday, and Thursday will be tank/bank for week three. I look forward to seeing you then.
