Hello, and welcome to my website. In case you don't already know, my name is Christian Hardy. I've been writing as a hobby for most of my 20 years — all of which have been lived in Kansas. But in my sophomore year of high school, I started this blog under the name theffaddict.com. It started as a place for me to write about random sports thoughts, but mostly fantasy football posts. At it's peak, I was publishing at least one article a day and had a handful of writers under me. This was all before I was a senior in high school.
Since, writing has become what I want to do for a living. I've worked for the Derby Informer, interned for the Wichita Eagle, and have been published hundreds of times. In the summer of 2016, I worked as an intern for the Kansas City Star as part of the Sports Journalism Institute. I'm currently the managing editor at the University Daily Kansan, the student-run newspaper at the University of Kansas, but I've also worked as the sports editor, web editor, and associate arts and culture editor at the paper. In the last five semesters at Kansas, I've covered Kansas basketball, David Beaty's first season as head coach of Kansas football as a beat, Sporting Kansas City's run to a U.S. Open Cup, Olympic qualifying soccer games, and a handful of other sports in the Lawrence community.
Although I'm not entirely positive what my future holds (who does?) , but know I want to be in journalism, writing about either sports or arts. I especially enjoy writing features and about off-beat topics. If I'm doing that, I'll be where I want to be. Just by reading, you've supported me: Thank you. If you'd like to follow beyond this website, you can follow my Twitter: @ByHardy.
